Salary:The median annual Medical Librarian (MLS) salary is $59,229, as of November 07, 2016, with a range usually between $52,870-$66,627, however this can vary widely depending on a variety of factors.

Education:A health science librarian provides access to medical information through books, pamphlets, journals, tapes, multimedia presentations, and the Internet. Health science librarians help health providers, patients, and students sort through the vast amount of information available.

Demand or need for this profession:Employment of librarians is projected to grow 2 percent from 2014 to 2024, slower than the average for all occupations. Librarians are needed to assist library patrons in locating information and resources, but growth will be limited by budget constraints in local government and educational services.
